Words You May Eat
Be cautious of the words you say, make sure they’re soft and sweet.
You never know from day to day, which words you’ll have to eat.
Tasty words to be eaten
“Make yourself at home.” Bernard waved his guest to a den adjoining his office. Two easy chairs sat semi-facing a blazing fireplace and a plate of raw words were on a platter to be eaten later. “I brought you here because Chef Bryan is an acquaintance of mine.”
“Jacob has gone back to Dallas.” Lalya apologized. She had been dreading the raw words she would be forced to eat here today and she wished Jacob were here to swallow his fair share of the caustic words. Even the limo driver sent to pick her up had seemed surprised he wasn’t there.
“While your travel ticket was inexplicably and accidentally cancelled.” Seth sat then took up a poker to rearrange the burning logs. He then looked over at the words like raw worms as if tempting her to voluntarily pick up a spoon to start eating words. “That was nightmarish service from my airline. Should I fire someone over it? Or should I just have the management eat the words I paid so much to have advertised?”
“They were nice enough and gave me some compensation frills and condiments.”
“I’m sure we haven’t offered nearly enough.” He put the poker down.
“Ah,” Lauren brightened, “Bryan Dumont is who you referred to.”
“Why should I need the son to eat his words, when his father is already on my payroll as my wordsmith.” Seth clasped his hands together and made a finger steeple. “You on the other hand,” he pointed his two digits at her, “have shown some interesting aspects of yourself—and not just your pink on the links either.”
“I suspect the reason I’m here,” the lady author blushed on the topic of her public shame, “involves information I wrote about and some words I have to eat.”
“I could easily get roasted words from Chef Bryan.” Seth reclined further back into his chair and crossed his knee: as if in preparation for a lengthy discussion. “I much more eager to learn what really happened to your tasty new novel. And make sure you chew your words carefully.”
Mind Controlled Girl Eats Her Words
‘A helicopter will arrive at Seth’s office where you’ll be exchanged for another mind controlled girl.’ He recapped words she already had eaten with the email. ‘You’ll fly to Dallas airport and transfer to a jet bound for Washington.’
‘That could be a switch like the mind control they used before. When I came here from Ukraine we avoided immigration by having another plane as a decoy. I could play it your way and end up eating my own words.’
‘What date was that?’ With the information, Leo checked in Seth’s files. ‘This destination is true. I found billing information from that other journey. They’ve set up the same ploy to bring the other mind controlled girl who is your replacement but both those flights terminate before you’re due to take off to Washington.’
‘If the author shows up to pick me up, it doesn’t matter where the flight is going to, because I won’t land in one breathing piece. I will be eating my words and his even though I’m not under the mind control they think I am.’
‘Was he was the pig walking on his hind legs?’
‘That was the mind controller. Next to Author, he’s a cuddly teddy bear.’
‘Would eating your words would stop him?’
‘A legion of crack troops could all eat words and that probably wouldn’t even slow him up.’
‘If I try to rescue you here in Dallas, we have only several brief and very poor opportunities. However, Sergey must have a reason for your going to Washington I could follow and find a better opportunity. How many girls are mind controlled now?’
‘I’m scared and I’m quivering. I can’t even think straight. I can’t count how many girls got hypnotized into being sex slaves.’
‘Can I help?’ I’ll try using mind power to push support through the link we seem to have.
‘Talk with me and tell me something I don’t know about you.’
‘I have a spirit in my head that thinks he’s a Norse god. He sucks mu blood and eats my words for breakfast. He latched on during my afterlife journey. He’s a parasite sucking out my one-liners.’
‘LOL—really?’ The girl immune to the mind control that they were feeding her with their words took her hands away from the keyboard and found they weren’t shaking so badly anymore.
‘I’m afraid so. That makes me a schizophrenic.’
‘It doesn’t if he’s real. Can he summon a militia of Vikings?’
‘He’s as useless to me as running-shoes are to a rattlesnake.’
‘What were you doing last night in Seth’s computer? You weren’t chewing up and swallowing his typed words?’
‘This is what’s being delivered to Asia,’ Leo opened a video box for her, ‘instead of the newest version of his program they will be getting some bitter pill words that none can swallow.’
‘It’s funny,’ Maria recalled her lashing out at Seth by ruining his pens, ‘but it’s also a bit childish.’
‘On the surface and by only seeing the one incident—it is juvenile. I’m stirring up animosity between two big players.’ The programmer quickly outlined the attacks he reciprocally made on the author and his mind control tactics against women.
‘A big corporation doesn’t go to war another over only a few incidents. If anything they might be scrambling to avoid further conflict.’
‘Do you want to hear an old man’s reminiscing?’
‘I don’t recall your being overly ancient—but sure, I’ll eat your words.’
